Maternity care during peak times

We would like to inform you, as a parent-to-be, about the care we offer during peak times and the support we provide during labour between 18.00 and 08.00.

What does a peak period in neonatal care mean for you as a parent-to-be?

  • The number of hours of maternity care per day can be reduced to a minimum of 3 hours per day.
  • A reduced number of hours of care mainly means that the maternity nurse aide can do fewer household chores, the main focus is on caring for the mother and child
  • The care can be spread over fewer days, provided this is medically justifiable.
  • Several maternity nurse aides may provide care.

The care will always be determined in consultation with you and your midwife, so that you always receive care that is medically responsible.

Assistance with the birth between 18:00 and 08:00

When it comes to evening and night care, we work together with Kraamcentrum Echt and Geboortezorg Limburg. This means there is a chance that you will be assisted by a maternity nurse aide from one of these maternity care providers between 18:00 and 08:00.

Start-up care upon returning home between 18:00 and 08:00

Between 18:00 and 08:00, in principle, no maternity care is started in the home. However, there is the possibility that a staff member can answer your questions via a secure video link.

Via the Cicogna Maternity Care App, you always have access to digital information and instructions that answer the most frequently asked questions.
